For bride Fallon, her wedding day had to show the more non-traditional side of her and her husband Zakk. When she reached out to me about a custom black wedding gown, I instantly knew we’d be the perfect fit!
Fallon and her mom came across Hannah Caroline Couture while searching for custom wedding gown designers when they found our Facebook page in a local wedding planning group.
“I knew I wanted a certain dress created so I sent the pic to anyone who said they did that type of thing. I had many people ignore me or not want to work with me because I was plus size or because I wanted an alternative dress.
Being plus size, I was worried about how my vision would turn out because the size 2 bridal models filled out dresses differently than I did.”
Unlike many brides, Fallon already knew exactly what she wanted and decided to avoid the heartbreak of visiting any bridal shops in search of a plus-size, black wedding dress. As our brides know, it can be difficult to find plus size gowns at bridal shops in the first place - let alone more unique options like a black gown.
Instead, Fallon found several dresses she liked on Pinterest and we combined all her favorite elements into one!
Fallon’s dress reflected her and her husband’s more alternative style and tied in with the rest of their non-traditional wedding day. Her unconventional black dress combined scalloped chantilly lace sleeves, a plunging neckline, an open and unlined lace back, and a gathered english net skirt to create a soft, romantic look.
Throughout the process of designing and creating Fallon’s dress, I found myself falling more and more in love with the design, so I knew it had to become part of my next collection. Check out the Fallon Gown here, available in several colors and with multiple skirt options including tulle, chiffon, organza, and more!
“Hannah helped my vision come to life! She found out what I really wanted during our first meeting and sketched out the design right there. It just felt so easy and familiar, like I was talking to an old friend. It just felt so right!”
Fallon’s advice to other brides:
“Don’t let others influence what your vision is, stay on top of your projects and deadlines, and remember that this is supposed to be fun. Enjoy the process!”
